Include navigation properties as cells in output, allow expansion of them after initial query
Many times after running an expensive query, I realize that there's one more navigation property that I want to see the results of following it. Currently that means rewriting the initial query enough to do so and then re-running the entire query.
The idea is that instead, when an entity/row is written to the output, it includes cells for the navigation properties as well (not just scalar ones) with those cells containing buttons, or links, or whatever such that the user can 'trigger' them while interacting with the results pane.
This would both prevent users from having to re-create and…

Add a Util.ReadPassword method
Util.ReadLine is very handy, but sometimes I use it to enter passwords, and I don't want other people looking at the screen to see my password... A Util.ReadPassword method that hides the input would be nice

NuGet Package Management
Please consider NuGet integration.
I would also suggest changing LINQPad scripts to not just be XML files but indeed something like a tar'd/zip'd archive of XML and DLL files with NuGet integration and update mechanism.
This would be super compelling and useful and much more light-weight than using NuGet from VS.

Add Expand / collapse item for structure of DBs left panel
Hi,
In the left panel which holds all the connection a new menu items should be added -- expand / collapse all below this node. While creating SQL queries I often forget which tables has which fields, and I have to manually expand the nodes (root > db > user > table). It takes a time. With my suggestion user will be able to perform this action in 2 clicks.
Thanks

Add the abilty to set CultureInfo
I live in sweden and swedish Exception message are quite useless when posting online (in help formus) etc. Would be greate to set the CultureInfo so Linqpad returns English exception messages.

vb 2010 does not require line continuation
vb 2010 does not require the "_" when a new line starts with a query clause. It would be nice if you didn't either.

copy-paste & indentation
I would like an option to auto-include the indentation of first line for copy-paste convenience,
I find when I copy-paste pieces of code around, I place the cursor usually at the starting word. Then I would hold the shift key to select the lines below. This results in excluding indentation characters of the first line, but including the indentation for the lower lines.
When you then paste this block, you would place the cursor at the correct position, but the lines under that appear 'one level too deep'.
I could work around it, by adjusting my selection to include the…

Display StackTrace on exception
Difficult to debug without it - I'm using LINQPad as a sandbox for most of my development, much faster than VS2010

Add the ability to toggle "My Queries" and "Samples" as favorites
I'm getting a large collection of files in "My Queries". The "Organize..." button helps but it would be great if the files in the trees had stars icon that I could click on to toggle as favourite scripts. Perhaps a third tab named "Favourites" that lists them all together?
LINQPad rocks!

Include "My Extensions" file to "Search samples"
See the subject. The code within "My Extensions" seems to be not found by "Search samples..."

Almost every week LinqPad give a new update verision. But as a user I don't know how to use these new feature, so these valueable feature can not make any value for me. I need some code samples show me how to use these new feature. So please add a help item under help menu to include code samples for new features and linq tips and .net tips...etc.

If user manually adjusts column widths in a query window - remember these settings.
If uses adjust the cols in a query result set, then if they run that query again and the result "shape" is the same, then use these adjusted col widths for these new results.
Only if the shape of the results changes from one run to the next is there any need to reset these (even in that case it could remember the widths I guess - on a per col basis)

Compact (and name) the amount of SQL Parameters
The amount of duplicate SQL Parameters are too damn high :-)
eventhough i in C# declare the inputs as variables, the SQL parameters are duplicated pr use of the paramenter.
eg:
var DS = 127;
var genart = "00402";
var critno = 100;becomes :
-- Region Parameters
DECLARE @p0 Int SET @p0 = 100
DECLARE @p1 VarChar(1000) SET @p1 = '00402'
DECLARE @p2 NVarChar(1000) SET @p2 = '-1'
DECLARE @p3 Int SET @p3 = 100
DECLARE @p4 Int SET @p4 = 2
DECLARE @p5 VarChar(1000) SET @p5 = '00402'
DECLARE @p6 NVarChar(1000) SET @p6 = '-1'
DECLARE @p7 Int…4 votes -

Add support for Failover Partner when creating a SQL connection
We have 2 SQL servers set up with mirroring. Some databases are live on one and passive on the other and vice versa. It would be handy if I could put Failover Partner in the connection string to save me having to have 2 different connections.

Allow Column Names in a Table to be Sorted
We are using the IQ "driver" to connect to an Oracle database. When expanding a table, the list of columns in the table is displayed. It would be a huge help if this list could be sorted. We have several tables each with over a 100 columns and it becomes very difficult to find the column we're looking for.
We'd liek to see an option (perhaps in Preferences) that allows us to see the list of columns sorted alphabetically (or reverse alphabetically).
Thanks

Snapshot saving
Due to the nature of Linqpad, I'm often using it for handling one-off processes or experimenting. It would be nice to be able to quickly step through all the saved states of a particular snippet, etc. Could marry with an advanced Undo system.
