Organize Connections Into Folders
Would be nice to be able to organize my connections into folders like "Dev", "Test", "Prod", or by focus, like "Reporting", "Web", "Internal", etc.

Wow... this suggestion has been out there for over 12 years... it would be nice to see this implemented... really need to be able to manage the connections. Currently I have over 30 connections, being able to put them in folders would be fantastic it would also be nice to be able to set their display order... that is, let me choose how they are shown (which one is first, 2nd, etc...)

Yes please. Folder structure for connections would be a great help!

In the era of microservices for one application, you have connections to a lot of databases, so organize them at least to the top level folder will be very helpful

I was just going to recommend the same thing - Thanks for adding this. Unfortunately it was added in 2010 so I'm left with wondering if this will get worked on? I added three votes to it as I'd REALLY love to be able to do exactly what others are suggesting such as "Production", "Dev", etc..

Would love a way to organize all my connections using a hierarchical folder structure. This is the one thing missing in my opinion to make this the perfect tool.

I'd love to have this feature! Having 50+ saved connections across multiple environments is a lot to manage.

@Joe Albahari, is there any reason why you do not pick on the quick win feature ? Sounds not too complex to implement and a lot o people are looking forward to it.. thanks

it is ok to be able to give a "production" tag to connections, however it would be very very useful to organize them into a hierarchical way

Got 47 connections in that list.. I now rely on rename to group them together...

I was just thinking that this would be a great feature to have. This would help alot, as well as the ability to sort the connections by name.. I am slightly OCD, so when I have dev/test/prod databases mixed, it is irritating.. Folders would help to sort by client/project, and then servers.

Seemingly simple, definately a great idea. Since each connection is a server and database, I quickly got the vertical scroll bar. I'd suggest user defined tabs, as some people may want department categories, others might want server categories.

I think this is a great idea. I usually have a lot of connections established, and it would be nice to be able to organize them.
